If Riley doesn't pan out, they will need the hole filled much sooner than Grissom's ETA, and Shewmake probably won't have the bat impact to play every day there, although he may hit enough to fill it in a pinch (Camargo a couple years ago). But long-term, yes, Grissom could be that option if he develops. We'll have a better idea about that this season. Short-term, third base would likely need to be filled externally, which creates a tough situation. Here's to hoping Riley can flip a switch.
